Meet Lara Desrosiers, MSc. OT Reg. (Ont.)
Since 2009, Lara has worked as a Registered Occupational Therapist in community mental health settings to support individuals living with mental illness to manage difficult symptoms, build relationships and find a sense of meaning and purpose.
Lara is also a mother of two young children and loves high impact sports. She experienced the pervasive impact of pelvic floor dysfunction during her postpartum recovery. While she has had great success with the support of Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy to return to all of the activities that she loves, her recovery also involved navigating an emotional roller coaster ride that, as it turns out, is quite common for individuals experiencing pelvic floor dysfunction, is not often addressed in rehabilitation programs and can have a significant impact on physical recovery.
Lara became driven to fill this gap and began to soak up literature and continuing education in pelvic health, persistent pain & women’s health in order to help you to navigate your unique experience in a way that promotes SELF COMPASSION, WHOLE PERSON WELLNESS and RESILIENCE.
